Maddie has COOKIE EYES! Some people never change..

Hey everyone!!!

 So my week was great!

Tuesday- Lesson with Jose Andres and with hermana Carmen. We talked about the temple. We shared some photos with him. The spirit was really strong and Jose Andres was really moved by it. Also after 14 months and over a thousand photos my memory card has a virus... But I think I can recover them when I get home.

Wednesday- We contacted ALOT. But we actually got a lot of addresses of people! Then we drank some hot chocolate.

Thursday- We had some pretty good plans but sadly they fell but we did manage to teach Verona and Rodrigo who are less actives. We talked about temples with them! We ate completos.

Friday- INTERCAMBIOS. I was with Hermana Maimone who is from Argentina. And Hermana B. Silva was with Hermana Velazquez. We had a good time. A few lessons, a meeting, brownies and sopaipillas.

Saturday- Hermana B. Silva and I bought gourmet popsicles which were really good. Mine was maracuya with merengue.

Also as always Saturday was basketball with the elders and we have a huge group of non members that come and play. We have gotten a few references and one of them even prayed to start our game off!

Sunday- Church. Then we went to a lesson with Carol Lockling and then she took us to her house and we had once with the family. The Lockling family is the best!

Monday- District Class. Then a meeting. Then lunch with Hermana Teresa. We had some REALLY good cake. Then we planned and then helped a Jovencite with some English. We ate dinner with Familia Galvez.

Tuesday- We had a zone activity. Where we played a few games like, a rely race where you have find a candy in water and then find a candy in flour and then blow up a balloon and pop it with your bum. Another with an egg toss and the last one where you have a balloon tied to your leg and have to pop others balloons. After all the elders and me and another sister played basketball. Can I just tell you how much I love basketball!

Anyways I love you all and I just wanted to share this scripture with you "Lift up your heads and be of good comfort,... I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders... and the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear their burdens with ease." Mosiah 24:13-15.

LOVE YOU

Families are Eternal!

Hey everyone!

This week was a pretty good week. Although most of our citas fell through we saw many miracles. We found a new investigator named Lider. He is from Colombia. He was listening to the missionaries before but because he recently moved and  he lost contact with the sisters in the west mission. Well God is so perfect that he put Lider in our camino and we are able to teach him. We went with Javiera, who is a RM, and it was a great lesson. It was like being in a trio again.

Also this week I was able to go to the Sealing of the Mu帽oz Toloza Family.

Seeing them being sealed together along with their daughter is a moment I will treasure forever. I think in that moment I truly understood the vision that our president has and that our Heavenly Father has for us. Not only was I able to see the sealing but I was able to see Evelyn and her daughters.

They were my first baptisms. To explain how I felt, I am without words. But I am eternally grateful to my father in heaven for having been able to see them.

And another miracle that happened was that yesterday we were trying to find a reference but we couldn't find him so we started contacting a man in the street. His name is Joel and we gave him a Book of Mormon. So those are some of the miracles that I saw this week.

Today was Pday, we ate completos and went to Santa Lucia. It was super fun!

Have a great week! I love you all.

Crazy week but lots of miracles.

Hey everyone!

Well this week was a little crazy. Lots of meetings but I saw a lot of miracles.

I decided that this change I would be better. I felt that I wasn't the missionary that I should have been. I felt that I did not give it my all. I decided that this change I would be the missionary that God wants me to be. The missionary that I want to be. So from day one, receiving my companion I strive to be obedient and contact everyone. Leaving the office we contacted in the metro and a woman gave us her address and it just so happens that she lives in our sector! Her name is Rosemarie. We passed by to visit her on Saturday. She wasn't able to receive us but we were able to teach her about prayer and pray with her.

Also we visiting people on Sunday that had given us their address to come visit them. We couldn't find someone and we asked a man if he knew the contact/person we were looking for. He didn't know the person so we began talking to  him. It turns out a month ago he receiving lessons from Hermanas in the west mission but moved about a week ago and lost contact with them. He has a Book of Mormon and was happy when we asked him if we could visit him. His name is Lider and he is from Columbia. And guess what? He thought I was Chilean. So I think that Lider is like the coolest guys ever.

Yesterday we didn't have any set plans so we decided to pass for references because we have a lot. We found 2 people that their address actually existed and although they couldn't receive us in that time, we have citas with them this week! Also yesterday I probably had the best capacitaron de zona that I have had in my whole mission. Not because we did something really cool or anything but the spirit was so strong. I know that every missionary felt the spirit as we testified of our vision as missionaries.

We went to the temple today with Hermana Mendoza and her companion, Hermana Cordiero (who was companions with my comp in the CCM). We had a good time and I saw Hermana Paulson in the temple! Hermana Paulson was the Hermana that was on the plane with me. We arrived in Chile together. I am convinced that the temple is a place of miracles and crazy happenings. I love having the opportunity to be close and be reminded of my covenants that I have made.

Have an amazing week. I love you all.

Lots of change this week!

Hey everyone.

I know it is a day late but this email will explain why.

Here are some things that happened this week.

1. I cut my hair. Pretty short but I like it a lot. A less active cuts hair so I let her cut my hair and she did a great job. If you ever are in Chile I highly recommend her.

2. Friday we had like a family home evening at the church. JOSE ANDRES (our investigator went). It was a lot of fun. We had a brief lesson. Played habla chancho and ate some cookies.

3. Every Saturday as obra missional in the ward we play basketball. This week we had 8 NON MEMBERS come and play. It was a great turn out and little by little we are working with these young men that come. One day they will be baptized I have hope! And the play really well, so I am enjoying myself very much.

4. We had changes. Hermana Araujo left me 馃槥 I was only able to do half of her training but her new trainer is awesome. So she can at least have one good trainer. Hahah. My new companion is.... SURPRISE. I am training again. Hermana B. Silva. And guess what? She is also from Brazil. I think the Lord really wants me to learn Portuguese. But that wasn't the only surprise that I had. I have also been called as a Sister Training Leader. I am really grateful for the chance to serve in these callings. I know that the Lord has called me not because I am perfect or an ideal missionary but because I need to get better. I have a lot to learn and I look forward to the next 6 weeks.

I love you all. Have a great week.

Happy Mother's Day

I got a gift!
To all those mothers out there HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

This week was kind of slow and not much happened.

We were able to do some service, cleaning a house of an elderly couple who had just moved in. We cleaned the bathrooms and it was quite interesting.

Some more rain this week.

And a few lessons and a noche de hogar. So instead of telling you about my week I will share a few things that I learned in my studies:

"A mission is about what the Lord wants, not about what you want"

"For Christ is our peace" Ephesians 2:14

"Let us do good unto all men" Galatians 6:10

"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me" Phil. 4:13

"Go out with JOY and be led forth with peace" Isaiah 55:12

I hope you enjoy these scriptures. They sure helped me this week. I love you all.

Love,
