Balloons, water fights and hot weather!

Hey everyone,

Well another change has come and gone. My companions, Hermana Pacheco and Hermana La Serna unfortunately went with the change. My new comp is Hermana Rodriguez. She is from Guatemala and is pretty cool. We even matched without planning it when we met up with each other.

Well some highlights this week:

-We did service in a hospital with Hermana Camila and her daughter. We handed out balloons to all the little kinds in the hospital. It was sweet to see the happiness they had just from receiving a balloon. I sure am grateful for all my blessings that I have.

- Saturday we had a ward activity. We ate pastel de Choclo and Humitas. I am totally going to make it when I go home. We had a pretty good turn out and a water fight!

- Saturday night we went to a baptism with 2 of our investigators from Haiti.

- Sunday. Elias and Herminda came to church. AND JULE AND SUZANA. BEST DAY EVER

- Sunday, our lunch fell through but good old familia Chavez came through and fed us. (they are my favs)

-Monday lots of goodbyes and citas because my companions left.

That is all. Well most of it. I love you all and I hope you have a great week. I am melting here but loving every moment.

Love,

Hermana Showalter

Happy Valentines Day!

Hey everyone! This week was pretty good one.

11th,  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY PARENTS. 22 years! ( No, I didn't forget). I now have 11 months in the mission and was an endowed in the temple a year ago. We had spits. Hermana Pacheco and I went with Hermana Acedo. Guess what? She is from Puerto Pe帽asco! And we contacted a lady and she gave us a reference (which never happens). We went and visited her and we found a new investigator.

12th Family home evening in the church. We talked about decisions. The bishop did a good job. And we had investigators at the fhe 馃榿

13th We found 3 investigators from Haiti. We taught them in Spanish\French?English because one of them has been in Chile for 5 days and the others for a few months. It was hard but they are so sweet!

14th Happy Valentines Day! We had a fireside and we went with Camila and Antonella but we arrived for the very end but we tried!

15th interviews with president. Herminda and Elias went to the doctor to help Elias with his drinking problem and they are going to get married! A huge family home evening with the Familia soto. We played habla chancho.

16th Cajon de Maipo with Familia Cabello. It was a blast. We played jenga and ate an asado.

Love you all and have a great week!

Someone got robbed but it wasn't me!

Hey everyone! Here are the highlights of the week.

1. We did lots of exchanges with Hermanas and young women in the ward! It is awesome. Instead of just the 3 of us working in our sector we had 5 or 6 of us. The spirit was so strong and the members were able to help the investigators and less actives in ways that we can't. EVERY MEMBER A MISSIONARY!

2. Hermana Mabel had a baby shower, Her 4th boy. The poor woman. We love the Familia Chavez very much. So we helped her set up and clean up. It was fun and a big success.

3. Saturday we had a area leadership training. It was really good and I learned a lot.

4. Monday was full of citas. These are the best days of the mission.

5. Today Hermana Pacheco got robbed on the metro but we didn't even realize. It stunk!

6. Learned how to make lomo saltado.

I sure love you guys and Thomas S Monson said "Our faith in Jesus Christ and in our heavenly father will influence us in everything we do"

Just keep that in mind this week

 I love you all!

A chicken named......

Hey everyone!

The sun came back to Santiago and so once again the whether is in the 90´s. Yay missionary work in the sun. Anyways here is the week break down:

Wednesday: normal day

Thursday: We had a killer day full of visitas. And a family home evening with crepes and majar.

Friday: We had our family home evening as a ward. We were in charge and the theme was, " estar helado (a lado) de Cristo" It is a play on words. For those of you who understand Spanish, you laughed. We talked about love and charity and them ate ice cream.

Saturday: normal day and Hermana Soto gave us really delicious french fries

Sunday:Church. This woman named Astrid came to church. She was on The Voice Chile. Cool right. Then in the night we had another family home evening and it was really great. We played the game habla chancho. We will have to play it when I get back.

Monday: meeting in the morning and then we did splits with an hermana. I went with Hermana Lucia and my companions went and contacted. I learned that missionary work CAN NOT be done unless we work with the members. Then we did visitas with Hermana Soto. I held her chicken! I named it Hermana Showalter.

Today: went to the mall to buy shoes for my comp. I remembered how much I don't like malls. Then we made tacos and relaxed.

I LOVE YOU ALL!
